Sonic Cloud Blessing

This morning I was the featured speaker and the musician at the Home of Truth in Alameda. The talk title was “Lessons from Kaua’i” and drew from my experiences in June on the island.

The key point of the message was we create paradise from our consciousness, in fact, we create everything from our consciousness. As I concluded the message, we closed the morning with a sonic cloud of blessings. Everyone picked a single word and improvised a chant using just that word; “Joy, Abundance, Beauty, Grace and Unity…”
It turned into a large, sonic cloud of blessing.

Sunday at Tri-Valley Unity

Amazing Sunday morning on August 17 with Rev. Harriet Hawkins at Tri-Valley Unity in San Ramon, CA. I knew Rev. Harriet when I was just beginning classes at Oakland First Church of Religious Science (before the name change.)

She reached deep when she spoke, and we were all moved. I had planned on following the sermon with one of my lighter songs, but I realized it wasn’t appropriate to follow depth with “bubble gum.” I switched the song to “God is All I’m Seeking,” which I wrote to pull me out of a dark place.

The change really was appropriate. I hadn’t played the song in six months, and I struggled a little with the fingering, but it served its purpose.

God is all I’m seeking, God is all I need,

God is the only essence, manna for my soul to feed…
